Costs Understanding the Cost of Therapy

At some point in most people's lives, they need support. They want to feel better about themselves, about life, about their relationships. That's where mental health care comes in. And while therapy services can be a crucial component to coping with life's challenges, insurance coverage for our services varies greatly. Dr. Conrad accepts self-pay only clients, and is happy to provide a monthly superbill for clients wishing to receive reimbursement from their insurance for out of network provider services.

The Value of Therapy Things to Consider When Choosing a Therapist

When you're considering going to therapy, it may be tempting to look for the cheapest option. However, it's important to consider the value of the services you're receiving, not simply what you're paying.

Have questions about the costs of therapy?

Ask yourself these questions before making an educated decision:

  • What license, training, and/or certifications does the therapist have?

  • What treatment methods do they use?

  • Is the methodology backed by empirical evidence?

  • How much is my problem costing me in my life, work, and relationships?

  • Is this therapist uniquely trained in treating my needs?

  • Have I tried other therapy styles before without success?
